Dr. Timothy Williams' uses his extensive experience in the labor management field to help labor and management work together to build a positive relationship and greater efficiency within the organization.  Some examples should help illustrate the nature of this work.  In 1985, Dr. Williams worked with the City of Seattle and IFTP Local 17, under a court order, to improve the relationship between city management and the Union .  The project lasted approximately two years and some of the results are published in an article found in Applied Human Resource Management Research, Volume 2, Number 2.

Likewise, in the early 90’s, he worked with the City of Spokane and the Spokane Fire Department, again under a court order, to improve the relationship between the two.  A local judge had gotten tired of the quarreling that kept surfacing in the form of lawsuits brought to his court and directed the parties to find a facilitator to help them work with each other.
